Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Those guidelines describe how to make web content usable for people with a wide range of disabilities, including vision, hearing, motor, and cognitive differences. We treat them as the standard for this site and review new pages against them before publishing.
What we have built in
- Keyboard navigation. Every link, button, form field, and menu can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone. A skip link at the top of each page jumps straight to the main content.
- Visible focus. The element you are focused on is clearly outlined so you always know where you are on the page.
- Reduced motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, the site turns off animated transitions, the hero video effects, and other decorative movement.
- Text alternatives. Meaningful images carry descriptive alt text. Decorative images and background video are hidden from screen readers.
- Color contrast. Text and interactive elements are designed to meet or exceed the WCAG AA contrast ratio against their backgrounds.
- Clear structure. Pages use proper headings, landmarks, and labels so screen readers can announce and navigate them correctly.
- Resizable text. Layouts use relative units and reflow at up to 200 percent zoom without losing content or requiring horizontal scrolling.
- Accessible forms. Form fields have visible labels, and error messages are announced when something needs correcting.
- Plain-text versions. Every page is also available as plain markdown at the same address with a .md extension, for readers who prefer a simpler format.
Known limitations
Some content is hosted by partner companies on their own websites, including the health benefit, funding, and legal plan enrollment pages. We do not control those sites and cannot guarantee their accessibility. If you have trouble with a partner site, contact us and we will help you complete the process another way.
Embedded maps or third-party widgets, where present, may not fully meet our standard. We work to provide the same information in accessible text nearby.
How to report a problem
If any part of this site is difficult to use, we want to know. Email cheri@ascendfinancialwellnessgroup.com with the subject line "Accessibility," or call (916) 597-0314. Please tell us the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using. We aim to respond within five business days and to fix confirmed issues as quickly as we can.
